HEALTH SCREENINGS and HEALTH COUNSELING
Health Ministry sponsors Sunday health fairs, which are held in the parish hall. The health fairs include free blood pressure checks, free diabetes testing and cholesterol testing. There is a $10.00 charge for the cholesterol testing only; the other screenings are free of charge. Parish health care professionals provide the tests in addition to counseling for health care concerns. Educational material is also available on a variety of health issues. You are welcome to stop by after Mass. The following Sunday health fair dates are currently scheduled:
MAMMOGRAMS free for low income women; 40 years and older
Free breast cancer screening is made possible by the generous support of the Orange County Breast Cancer Partnership members. To qualify, women must be low income and have little or no insurance. Some Medicare participants are accepted. The mammograms screenings are conducted in complete privacy in the Parish Hall. Women are seen by appointment only. VISITATION MINISTRY (for the homebound)
This caring ministry links a parish visitor to ill and/or homebound individuals in our community to provide companionship and a listening presence. The homebound individual does not have to be a parishioner. To volunteer or to refer a homebound person, please call the church.
CANCER REGISTRY
The health ministry group is compiling a resource list of parish cancer survivors that will be available to newly diagnosis members to provide information, support and caring.
