About Us Bereavement Ministry
Mission statement:
Keeping in mind our parish mission, the mission of Bereavement ministry is to provide compassionate and loving assistance to bereaved parishioners and/or family of parishioners by helping them prepare for and participate in the liturgy of the Mass of Christian Burial. Many with whom we meet are not practicing Catholics or are not of the faith; we see our time with them as opportunities to invite their return to the Church or to acquaint them with the truths and values of our faith.
Main activities:
Help bereaved choose prayers, readings and music for the liturgy;
Encourage and facilitate their active participation in the service;
Prepare a worship aid;
Assist at the funeral ~ those attending as well as the celebrant.
